Set up a power recliner sofa by placing it near a suitable outlet, leaving clearance for movement, and testing every powered function before regular use. The sofa should recline smoothly without hitting walls, tables, or other furniture.
Start by choosing the final location before connecting power. Measure the sofa depth in both upright and reclined positions if that information is available. Leave room behind the backrest and in front of the footrest so the mechanism can move freely. If the sofa sits on a rug, make sure the rug does not bunch under the base or interfere with moving parts.
Next, plan the power route. The cord should reach the outlet without being stretched, pinched, or placed where people will trip over it. Avoid running cords under moving mechanisms unless the product instructions specifically allow it. If the sofa has multiple powered seats, USB ports, or separate controls, review the setup guide before plugging everything in.
