A console table is a narrow table designed to sit against a wall, behind a sofa, in an entryway, or along a hallway. It is used for display, light storage, and everyday drop-zone functions without taking up as much depth as a full cabinet.
In an entryway, a console table can hold keys, mail, sunglasses, a lamp, a bowl, or a decorative tray. If it has drawers or shelves, it can also store chargers, gloves, dog leashes, or small household accessories.
